This section shows the process of the artistic research that I developed during two years within the frame of the Master in Scenography at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht (HKU). The research was triggered by one main question: how can the conscious and the unconscious minds generate an experiential atmosphere? In the context of this question two main reflections were explored: one referring to the paradoxical way in which an individual experience can become a collective one without losing its personal approach. And second, the multilayered character of space in which physical encounters performative and filmic, and its possible interaction for the generation of atmospheres.

Ambiguity + Architectural Skins

March 1, 2016

'In spite of so many stubborn lies, at every moment, at every opportunity, the truth comes to light, the truth of life and death , of my solitude and my bond with the world, of my freedom and my servitude, of my insignificance and the sovereign importance of each man and all men. (...) Let us try to assume our fundamental ambiguity. It is in the knowledge of the genuine conditions of our life that we must draw our strength to live and our reason for acting.'

From 'The Ethics of Ambiguity' by Simone de Beauvoir
